Dr. Rachna Kumar

Dr. Kumar is a recent graduate from Kaweah Health Psychiatry in Visalia, CA. She has been serving the Central Valley since 2016 throughout clinical rotations in medical school and residency. During residency training, she has served as Academic Senior and Chief Resident. Her interests within psychiatry include graduate medical education, reducing  disparities in the care of psychiatric patients, and addressing physician burnout. She enjoys combining psychopharmacology with psychotherapy to improve the lives of her patients.

Dr. Luz Contreras Arroyo

Dr. Luz Contreras Arroyo was born in Mexico and was raised in Stockton, Ca by a single mother, and is the oldest of four siblings. She went to UC Davis for undergrad and completed medical school at UC Davis School of Medicine. She completed residency training June 2019 from a combined Family Medicine/Psychiatry program also at UC Davis. She was one of two co-chiefs her 5th year of residency.

From the beginning she has been interested in working with underserved populations. She is currently involved with a non-profit medical group, Doctors For Camp Closure, which advocates for the closing of immigration detention centers, as well as advocating for basic appropriate medical care for those held in detention. Additionally, this year she began to work locally at one of Sacramento’s FQHCs, One Community Health, which serves a variety of patient populations; including HIV positive, homeless, LGBTQ, as well as patients with high mental health needs. She is splitting her time between both Family Medicine and Psychiatry and is working in her clinic to improve the integration between the two fields.

Dr. Arroyo is married to her husband of 6 yrs, and they have a soon to be 3 yr old child. She is a big proponent of self-care, particularly for providers. She enjoys reading, travel, spending time outdoors and is working on acquiring gardening skills.

Dr. Setare Eslami

Dr. Eslami was born in Mashhad, Iran and completed her medical degree at Mashad University of Medical Sciences. After graduating from medical school, she practiced in various areas of medicine such as family and emergency medicine. 
Prior to residency, she managed a research project on novelty dementia treatments at Stanford University. She obtained her adult psychiatry residency at Kaweah Health where she is currently a faculty member. Dr. Eslami proudly serves the community of Central California with the focus on women mental health and LGBTQ mental health. 
With a holistic approach to mental health, Dr. Eslami achieves healing by integrating innovative evidence based treatments with her strength in allopathic medicine.

Dr. Jessica Kuo

Dr Kuo grew up in Taipei, Taiwan speaking only Mandarin until she moved to Los Angeles at 10 years old where she finally learned English. She went on to study undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, post graduate at University of Pennsylvania, and eventually making her way to medical school at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr Kuo has since then returned to California and is currently a psychiatric resident at Kaweah Health, serving as the Academic Senior for the residency program and proudly treating the underserved mental health population in Central California. She has a strong passion for cultural psychiatry, consult-liaison psychiatry, and plans on pursuing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
