Dear Colleagues,
As we wrap up another quarter, I want to take a moment to share some exciting updates and initiatives from the Central California Psychiatric Society.
Our Continuing Medical Education (CME) committee has been diligently planning for our upcoming Annual Meeting in Sacramento. I encourage all members to attend this engaging event, where we will explore current topics in psychiatry and foster valuable discussions.
Recently, the American Psychiatric Association’s State Advocacy Conference was held in Sacramento as well, and I am pleased to share that two of our early career psychiatrists, Drs. Collin Shumate and Nicholas Kotsyubko, represented us at this important event. Their involvement in advocacy work is commendable, and we look forward to their insights. I’m also pleased to announce that our society’s bylaws have been updated. Alongside this, the criteria for our awards have been refreshed to better reflect our mission and values.
In more good news, our immediate past president, Dr. Abdolreza Saadabadi, has been confirmed to fill the position of Deputy Assembly Representative to the American Psychiatric Association. Please join me in congratulating him on this well-deserved appointment!
I am excited to inform you that our society's website is currently undergoing redesign. We anticipate launching the updated site by the end of this year or early next year, enhancing your online experience and access to resources.
