Dear Esteemed CCPS Members,

I hope this message finds you well. As I reflect on our recent Annual Meeting at the picturesque Monterey Plaza Hotel in March, I am filled with immense joy. The camaraderie, the exchange of ideas, and the shared passion for our field were palpable throughout the event.

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you who graced us with your presence. Your commitment to excellence and your unwavering support truly makes CCPS a remarkable organization.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate the outstanding contributions from our Residency Training Programs. The vignette and poster presentations were nothing short of exceptional. Join me in applauding our winners:

Our program lineup was equally impressive. Dr. Jaime’s thought-provoking moderation of the movie “A Million Miles Away” left us pondering life’s intricacies. Dr. Scher’s update on Collaborative Care illuminated new pathways for patient well-being. And kudos to Dr. Molla and Dr. Padhy for their insightful updates on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Paul Yoder’s passionate Advocacy Update reminded us of the impact we can collectively make. And who could forget Professor Torres-Gil’s captivating talk on “The Politics of Aging”? His wisdom resonated with all of us.

I would like to extend additional thanks to Dr. Peter Yellowlees for his enlightening presentation on Hybrid Care - The New Normal for Psychiatry Results in Improved Psychiatrist Well-Being. His insights into the evolving landscape of psychiatric care were invaluable and truly appreciated.

Furthermore, special recognition goes to Mandeep Bagga for his comprehensive presentation on How to Administer Involuntary Medication Orders in a Jail-Based Setting. His expertise and practical approach provided us with essential knowledge in this critical area of psychiatric care.

As we bid adieu to my term as President of CCPS, I want to express my deepest appreciation for your unwavering dedication. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones, and I have no doubt that under the leadership of Dr. Amr Beltagui, MD, our organization will continue to thrive.

Mark your calendars now: March 28-30, 2025. Our next Annual Meeting awaits, and this time, we’ll gather at the elegant Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento Riverfront Promenade in Sacramento, CA. Let’s create more memories, forge new connections, and inspire one another.
