January 2022 President's Message ~ By: Mina Hah, MD

Mina Hah, MD
CCPS President

Hello members of CCPS,

I hope everyone is faring well during this time of omicron.  I unfortunately was one of many who contracted omicron despite being double vaccinated and boosted.  I was thankful we are in the position in 2022 where we have vaccinations and boosters available and more information to combat covid.    It’s been a time of high stress and burnout for our country, and I thank you for the work that you do each and every day to help our patients with increased mental health needs as we physicians keep running on fumes.

We are still working together with PPAC to advocate for our patients and for psychiatrists.  If you had a chance to read the newsletter, please reach out to Randall Hagar if any of you are getting denied the add-on therapy codes. This happened to me recently and it is now resolved, however many psychiatrists have had this occur and I want to make sure we psychiatrists are paid for the expertise and work we provide.

We are continuing to be flexible during these uncertain times and are trying our best to provide our members with value.  If you have any suggestions on how to increase our value to our membership, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes for a good New Year and a healthier and happier 2022!
