Collin Shumate
Collin Shumate, MD is a senior resident at the UC Davis psychiatry residency and an APA Public Psychiatry Fellow. Prior to residency, he served within the American Medical Association as a medical student delegate. He authored several policies passed by the AMA which focused on LGBTQ+ health. He also advised the AMA Board of Trustees and educated state medical societies on the harms of “conversion therapy” and “bathroom bills”. While in residency, he has become involved with the Psychiatric Physicians Alliance of California and has met with legislators to advocate for meaningful mental health reform. He hopes to complete forensic psychiatry fellowship training after completing residency. He looks forward to the opportunity to work with CCPS on increasing resident and fellow engagement and to advocate for our patients.

Dr. Sosa is a first year psychiatry resident at Kaweah Delta Health Care District. I graduated from Ross University School of Medicine. My pursuit of Psychiatry stems from my interest in neuro-biochemistry, psychopharmacology, and fascination with the human mind. I hope to provide culturally sensitive care, while advancing the field. Andrea Collins
Andréa Collins is a psychiatry resident at UCSF Fresno. She was born and raised in Fresno and feels fortunate to be home providing care to a community in need. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in English literature. She obtained her medical degree from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, where she did clinical research in sleep medicine and psychopharmacology and brought art to the bedside in her work with the Center for Humanities in Medicine. She is considering fellowship in addiction or geriatric psychiatry.
