March 2025 | President's Update

Dear Colleagues,
As we begin the new year, I’m excited to update you on the progress of our upcoming Annual Meeting in Sacramento, scheduled for March 28th to March 30th, 2025. Our Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee has been working diligently to finalize the preparations, and we’re almost ready to unveil an engaging and insightful program.
This year’s meeting promises to be an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge, connect with colleagues, and engage in thoughtful discussions on the most current topics in psychiatry. The CME Committee has curated a lineup of sessions designed to provide valuable continuing medical education, foster collaboration, and inspire new ideas.
I encourage all members to attend this highly anticipated event. It will be a fantastic opportunity to meet with fellow professionals, learn from top experts in the field, and share ideas that will help us all grow as practitioners. Personally, I cannot wait to meet each of you in person and hear about your experiences and insights.

We have also received an impressive number of abstract submissions for vignettes and poster presentations from our residents and fellows. This is a wonderful indication of the energy and commitment our emerging professionals are bringing to our field. We look forward to showcasing their research and contributions during the meeting, as they will be an integral part of the event’s
success.
Looking ahead, I am thrilled to announce that Bakersfield has been selected as the location for our 2026 Annual Meeting. While the exact dates are still to be determined, I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter for our society and the opportunity to bring our community together in a new setting. Bakersfield offers a unique environment that I’m sure will make our meeting even more special, and I look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
I am also excited to share that our society’s website redesign is almost complete, and the updated site is expected to go live any minute now! We’ve been working hard to improve the user experience, making it easier for you to access important resources and stay up to date with our latest initiatives. I look forward to launching this enhanced version of our website, which I believe will
better support your needs and help strengthen our community even further.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone who hasn’t yet renewed their membership for this year to please do so as soon as possible. Your membership is vital to our continued success, and we appreciate your ongoing support. I also encourage you to continue inviting your colleagues to join the society. Expanding our membership brings new perspectives and strengthens our collective voice,
ensuring that we continue to advocate for excellence in psychiatric care.
