CCPS Member Listserve Rules & Purpose
The CCPS Listserve is a great way to communicate quickly and easily with fellow CCPS members regarding upcoming committee meetings, CCPS Events, employment related questions, advice, etc. by sending an email message to the CCPS Listserve address, your message will be sent to all CCPS members that subscribe to the list. The CCPS Listserve is for the exclusive use of CCPS members.

The Listserve is the property of the Central California Psychiatric Society. To participate in the CCPS Listserv, you must abide by the Listserve Rules.
To maintain the integrity and professional standards of the Listserv, and to provide the maximum benefit to our members, the "CCPS Listserve Rules and Purpose” have been established by the Council. By subscribing to the CCPS Listserv, you agree to abide by the requirements, prohibitions and policies set forth herein. The rules are posted in the member section of the CCPS website and are also available upon request from the CCPS office.
Member posts are not moderated and do not necessarily reflect the opinion or endorsement of CCPS.
Purpose
Association use of Listserv: Association use of the Listserve is for the purpose of sharing information that may be of interest to the members but is not necessarily fitting for standard communication channels.
Member use of the Listserv: Member use of the Listserve is for the purpose of sharing information with fellow members about upcoming committee meetings, CCPS Events, employment related questions, advice, etc.
The CCPS Listserve is not a chat room or blog and is not intended for the purpose of expressing personal opinions or addressing a dispute with the Association, individuals or businesses.
Communications that do not conform to the Rules and Purpose of the Listserve are prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including a member’s removal from the Listserv.
CCPS Association Matters & Policies
Unless specifically authorized by the Council, a member may not post messages regarding the Association, association-related matters or policies. Questions, concerns or comments about Association matters or policies, should be sent directly to the CCPS office, Association President, or the appropriate Committee Chair.
Subscribing/Unsubscribing Requests
Do not subscribe or unsubscribe by posting a message to the CCPS Listserv. The Listserve is for members only, therefore subscription requires the authorization of the CCPS office. Requests may be made by contacting the CCPS office. Requests will be handled during regular business hours.
Updating Your Email Address / Membership Information
Do not post email address or other membership information changes to the Listserv. Notify the CCPS office immediately with an email address change.
Virus Protection
To provide maximum protection for our members, the CCPS Listserve is configured to automatically block all attachments and HTML text. Please configure your messages and signature block to eliminate HTML text.
Prohibitions: Members
1. Use of inflammatory, derogatory, profane or vulgar language.
2. Endorsements of candidates for CCPS or any election campaign. No campaign posts, positive or negative, or attacks against candidates are permitted.
3. Dissemination of messages on behalf of members whose Listserve privileges have been modified or suspended.
4. Disclosure of any information that would violate a non-disclosure agreement.
5. Advertisements or promotional announcements for any organization, person or business, including notices for other association meetings and/or seminars, or for your services or the services of others, unless approved in advance by the Council. Please refer to "Advertising” for exception.
6. No jokes or motivational messages. The CCPS Listserve is for professional and business related postings only.
7. Polling of the CCPS membership, unless specifically approved in advance by the Council.
8. Job Postings: All job postings must be added to the CCPS job board.
Advertising and Items for Sale by Members
Business-related items for sale may be posted on the CCPS Listserv. Each item for sale may be posted on the Listserve only once (no repeat emails).
Listserve Rules and Purpose Amendments
The CCPS Council may make changes to these rules when it deems necessary. Upon an approved change, the amendment will be sent out to members via the Listserv, and the amended documented will be posted to the CCPS website.
Listserve Enforcement Procedures
The Listserve is the property of the Central California Psychiatric Society. The CCPS Council is tasked with enforcing the Listserve Rules and Purpose.
Infraction: An CCPS member’s misuse of the Listserve or violation of the rules as set forth above is considered an infraction. The CCPS Council will determine whether an infraction has occurred and, if so, shall send a reminder notice to the member. Continued infractions shall result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to, removal from the Listserv.
